Jay Ducote spends most of his time as a food and beverage writer, blogger, radio host, speaker, video producer, culinary personality, chef, and hugger. Residing in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, he has been named one of the top 100 amateur chefs in America by FOX’s MasterChef, has appeared as himself on HBO’s drama series Treme, and has been featured on multiple programs on networks such as Cutthroat Kitchen on the Food Network, Eat St. on the Cooking Channel, and Last Call Food Brawl on Destination America. The Bite and Booze Radio Show, produced and hosted by Ducote, won a Taste Award for best food or drink radio broadcast in the country in January 2014. He has also been named to the Baton Rouge Business Report's Forty Under 40 and has won the Comcast Sports South Tailgating Cook-off as well as the LSU Ag Center’s Gourmet in the Garden. Jay is currently working on a book that will be published by LSU Press. He has spoken at numerous conferences and conventions in the fields of culinary tourism, food blogging, beer wholesaling, and the pursuit of passion. He is a Cicerone Certified Beer Server, a member of numerous professional organizations, and also has his own Jay Ducote's Louisiana Barbecue Sauce. His cooking adventures have seen him as the opening chef instructor for the first ever Viking Cooking School Outdoors, a chef instructor for cooking classes at Fresina Pasta Company, and the chef and organizer of many pop-up dinners, private dining functions, and charity fundraisers.
